DEMINERALIZED WATER

Demineralized (or Deionized) Water can be used in a wide variety of areas, including the domestic sector, because it is low in mineral salts (electrical conductivity less than 10 uS/cm).

It is obtained by passing water through treatments designed to greatly reduce the salt component within it. However, since it is not microbiologically pure, it may contain bacteria and other microorganisms.
Since it is devoid of mineral salts (calcium and magnesium), it cannot be substituted for normal drinking water because it would result in its almost absent nutritive power, which is essential for the human organism.
